From the many tours in Costa Rica offered on board the Princess Cruise Line, tourists chose the “Costa Rica’s Favorites” as their preferred option. The “Costa Rica’s Favorites” tour optioned was granted with the C.R.U.I.S.E Award for the 2007-2008 cruise season.
The tour originates in the Central Pacific Coast of Puntarenas where ships dock as part of the Caribbean itinerary cruise. From the port of Puntarenas, tourists are taken to the Pacific Aerial Tram located in Jaco.
Once at the park, tourists board the gondola from which they are glided above the tree canopy while a naturalist guide points out the immense variety of the tropical forest’s vegetation and wildlife. The Pacific Aerial Tram includes three levels of height among the canopy giving the visitor different view points of the fascinating surrounding.
The tour then continues with a 2 hour jungle river cruise at the Tarcoles River, one of Costa Rica’s most important water sources. Here the visitors will be able to observe a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. The Tarcoles River is well known for its large crocodile population.
The jungle river cruise will also include the Guacalillo Estuary at which tourists will have the opportunity to observe several local bird species that inhabit the mangrove forest. The tour also includes meals as well as complimentary soft drinks and fresh local fruit.
Passengers are then driven back to the port of Puntarenas where they will have the opportunity to observe the local lifestyle, the region’s vegetation as well as other tourist attractions.

When our family vacationed in Costa Rica, we went to this canopy tour. It was great for our family since our youngest could not use the zipline type tour because they are too young. This was the perfect solution. It was a nice experience but I felt it was too expensive to suggest it to other people. For the 5 of us, it was almost $400.
